NBCF is committed to spreading knowledge and fostering hope in the fight against breast cancer. By funding free mammograms for women who could otherwise not afford them and supporting research programs in leading facilities across the country, NBCF helps inspire the courage needed to win this monumental battle. BC Children’s Hospital Foundation
BC Children’s Hospital is the province’s only full-service, pediatric acute-care hospital and serves the one million children living in BC and the Yukon. All children who are seriously ill or injured are referred to Children’s Hospital and are either treated at the Hospital in Vancouver or, in consultation with Children’s specialists, in their home community. Last year, more than 78,000 children were treated at Children’s Hospital. BC Children’s Hospital Foundation received donations from more than 120,000 people last year and had consolidated revenues of $56.4 million. Funds raised by the Foundation are used to support BC Children’s Hospital, Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children and the Child & Family Research Institute. Since 1982, BC Children’s Hospital Foundation has worked with children, families, caregivers and hundreds of thousands of British Columbians to give Children’s Hospital, and the Child & Family Research Institute the resources they need to excel.

One in three Canadian families cannot afford to enroll their children in sport and recreation activities because of financial barriers (Ipsos Reid, 2009). That means that many kids are missing out.
Canadian Tire Jumpstart is dedicated to removing barriers, so children can participate in organized sport and recreation.
We see it as equipping kids for life, because participation in organized sport and recreation increases a child’s chance for success in life.

At Autism Speaks Canada, our goal is identical to that of the founding organization in the United States.
At Autism Speaks Canada, our mission is to change the future for all who struggle with autism spectrum disorders.
We are dedicated to funding global research into the causes, prevention, treatments, and cure for autism; to raising public awareness about autism and its effects on individuals, families, and society; and to bringing hope to all who deal with the hardships of this disorder. We are committed to raising the funds necessary to support these goals.
Autism Speaks Canada aims to bring the autism community together as one strong voice to urge the government and private sector to listen to our concerns and take action to address this urgent global health crisis. It is our firm belief that, working together, we will find the missing pieces of the puzzle.

Building the Foundation for a Happier, Healthier Life
Do you remember what it was like growing up? Having a warm, welcoming home that always felt safe? A backyard to play in? Food in the fridge? At the time, you likely didn’t think about those things. No one could blame you for taking them for granted. Carefree; that’s how growing up should be. But life is not carefree for the children of the 1.3 million Canadian families in need of safe, decent and affordable shelter.
Many Canadian families live month to month, making it nearly impossible to get ahead. They’re forced to decide between heat and rent – a choice no family should ever have to make. Every Canadian family deserves a safe, decent and affordable place to call home. Habitat for Humanity Canada’s goal is to make that dream a reality.
We’re not just helping families in need purchase an affordable house, because they’re also getting a home. Homeownership is about more than just building equity, as it can instill a family with a renewed sense of confidence and pride. Children have become happier and more outgoing, leading to improved grades and better health. Parents have used their newly discovered sense of accomplishment to return to school, learn a new trade, or upgrade their job skills. The impact is immediate; the effects everlasting.
Many partner families are so moved and thankful for the opportunity to better their lives that they continue to contribute to their communities by helping others break free of the cycle of poverty. From becoming a partner family to the day they pay off their mortgage, Habitat partner families are given the support and guidance they need to ensure they succeed.
